Our Story

Welcome to Colorscape! I’m Amiah Sands, the founder of this creative sanctuary. I’d love to share the journey that led to the birth of Colorscape and what it represents.
Embracing My Path
Three years ago, I was diagnosed with ADHD and autism. This revelation answered many questions about my experiences and guided me toward embracing the activities that bring me true peace—art being foremost among them. Art has always been my refuge, a medium through which I could express feelings and thoughts that words often couldn’t capture.
A Fusion of Experience and Passion
With a background as both an artist and a behavioral therapist, I’ve witnessed the transformative power of creativity, especially for neurodivergent individuals. Art offers a unique avenue for self-expression, healing, and connection. This understanding fueled my desire to create a space where autistic children can explore their creativity freely and authentically.
The Birth of Colorscape
Colorscape was founded to be more than just an art workshop. It’s a nurturing, judgment-free environment where autistic children can delve into the world of art at their own pace and in their own style. Here, every child is seen, understood, and celebrated. Through guided activities and open-ended exploration, our mission is to help each child build confidence, develop new skills, and, most importantly, find joy in their creative expression.
Beyond the Workshops
Understanding the need for continuous support, Colorscape offers a variety of resources tailored for both children and parents:
• Sensory Toys and Activities: Tools designed to engage and soothe, enhancing the creative experience.
• Sensory-Friendly Activity Books: A collection of activities crafted to be inclusive and enjoyable for neurodivergent children.
• Reward Systems: Positive reinforcement tools to encourage and celebrate achievements.
• On-the-Go Activities: Portable creative projects to keep children engaged during travel or outings.
• Parental Resources: Guidance and support materials to assist parents on this journey, bridging the gap between school and home.
Looking Ahead
As Colorscape embarks on this journey, we’re thrilled to announce that our workshops will officially begin in May! Our vision is to be a beacon of creativity and understanding, offering autistic children a space where they can truly be themselves and flourish.
Thank you for being a part of our story. Together, let’s paint a brighter, more inclusive future.
Warmly,
Amiah Sands
